The Lokey Stem Cell (SIM1) project is on target to receive beneficial occupancy by July 1, 2010. To ensure that SIM1 meets all the programmatic needs of the stem cell scientists and CIRM’s forward leaning schedule, the project team has aggressively moved into an accelerated design and construction process. The programming effort, schematic design drawings, early University approvals, budgeting and site work preparation have been completed. The construction work is separated into two packages to ensure an on time delivery. The design of the building steel structure and shell will be completed by the end of February 2008 and will be submitted for permitting shortly thereafter. Groundbreaking occurred by June 24, 2008.
